Antenna

Palmers have the right solution for your antenna requirements. Many factors are considered when selecting the best option for your individual circumstances. Palmers have the technical knowledge to ensure you get the best possible picture every time.

Analogue

Analogue free-to-air TV signals are being switched off in the Canberra region as of 2013. They will be replaced with digital-only signals. Palmers can assist you in making the most out of analogue system and preparing for the changes when the digital conversion comes.

Digital

Digital TV reception depends on the strength and quality of the signal, just like analog TV. But unlike analog TV which gets snow and ghosts when things aren't right, digital TV works perfectly up to the point where the signal is too poor and then the picture simply disappears. This means that you need at least as good an antenna for digital TV as you do for analog. Most of us, we'll need a reasonable external antenna and coax running from it to the TV or tuner.

Deep Fringe

If you have tried to switch to digital by installing digital equipment and you can’t get it to work, if you still can’t receive a picture, contact Palmers to see whether digital signals are available where you live. Digital services may not be available; however, the Government is working on a number of solutions to deliver digital television signals to all households in the country by the time analog signals are switched off.

Option: via satellite

Satellite television can switch on approved viewers in out of area “Blackspots” to allow reception of commercial broadcast services. Palmers will have to gain approval from ACMA before being activated.
